Dr. Jaclyn grew up with a natural love of animals as most people who work in the veterinary field. Throughout her undergraduate years, she developed a love of science and biology as well. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology, she worked as a research technician for a couple of years before deciding that veterinary school was the next step to bring together her love of animals and her love of science into one awesome career. Since graduating from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013, she has spent her time working as both an associate veterinarian as well as a relief veterinarian throughout the West Michigan area. Her special interests include what some people refer to as 'physical medicine' which incorporates treatment modalities such as rehabilitation therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic adjustments, massage, etc... She has also done continuing education in both rehabilitation therapy and acupuncture to try to further her knowledge in these areas. While doing some relief work at Grand Haven Animal Hospital, she thoroughly enjoyed the people, patients and commitment to quality medicine each employee strives for and decided to become part of the team here. Besides working at GHAH, twice a month she works at Paws with a Cause helping to provide extra support to their veterinarian who cares for their service dogs in all stages from birth to placement as well as breeding individuals.
When not working, she can most likely be found at home spending time with her husband Josh, and chasing their two toddlers around who keep them both very busy!
They share their home with a French Bulldog named Ferdinand and a Samoyed named Nymera. Although she loves all animals, she is a self-proclaimed life long Frenchie lover who can't resist a squish faced dog! Dr. Jaclyn looks forward to continuing to meet the wonderful patients and clients here at GHAH.
